Boyfriend on Demand - Comments & Tips
It was really good, Jisoo is amazing and loved the male lead; very funny and charasmatic; highly recommend; entertaining throughout
Overall an interesting series. Definitely engaging and relatable, unlike most of Netflix's Romance K-dramas. There are moments where, as a viewer, the protagonist inner struggle is absolutely relatable. That makes it easier to engage with all the Fantasy/Sci-Fi elements. There are good comedic moments too, specially delivered by certain users of the "Boyfriend on Demand" VR device. There's even a little "Black Mirror" moment. The acting is good compared to the average K-drama of this genre. Solid script, despite the Sci-Fi premise, it delivers better character development and story progress than most of it's contemporaries. It surpass any "Hong Sisters" screenplay they could ever write, always. There are severe issues with the subtitles, wrong words and mistranslations, even of character's names and/or terms used to refer to them. But that's Netflix fault. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a romantic comedy that is overall light and fun, but with a deeper message too. You don't need to be a "K-drama" fan, but if you are, you will find "Easter Eggs". I usually look for this type of content in Holiday Season. But this one works any time of the year.
Peak rom-com: โข Whimsical and original premise. โข Excelent female lead with her journey that keeps the plot interesting and going. โข Sassy and adorable ML. โข Rivals to lovers where one of them yearns for their rival in secret. โข Reasonable third act break up. I missed this type of k-dramas where you can tell the writers appreciate the rom-com genre and wants to deliver a show with a fun premise with a bunch of lovable characters.
Can't wait to watch this!!!!
