Don't Leave Home

After watching a bunch of terrible movies, this one was quote refreshing. The movie is set in a mansion surrounded by a forest, where an American artist visits an old couple after bring contacted regarding an art piece she made. The tone of the movie is quite sombre and the style it was shot reminds me of old movies from the 1980s, even in the present era. You can really pick up the contrast between the artist's life in America and the time in Ireland. I enjoyed it and the ending, I thought, was pretty good. It has a bit of the portrait of dorian Gray I think in that [spoiler]once the old man paints his own portrait and disappears, everyone that had been trapped by his painting was released. Like how when Dorian sees his portrait, all the years that have passed become part of the painting.[/spoiler]
