Pros: tense zombie thrills; rich period setting; gripping palace intrigue | Cons: slow early stretch; pacing feels padded; some additions feel unnecessary

Will You Like This?

If you want a zombie series that mixes fast, frightening outbreaks with power struggles and mystery, this is a strong pick; Not for you if you dislike slow build-ups or political drama alongside horror, like in Sweet Home or All of Us Are Dead.

LIKE TRAIN TO BUSAN BEFORE THERE WERE TRAINS.

Really enjoyed this one. Being a period drama is what lured me in, and I don''t wish to call it a zombie series nor compare it to TWD. The show is more than just a plagued medieval country and the fight against the diseased. Looking forward to the next season.

This is a show that proves there''s still life in zombies (pardon the pun). _Kingdom_ proudly wears the horror badge, and it''s undoubtedly deserved. In a time where the genre got stale and is plagued with jump scares, this little Korean gem manages to get under your skin and make you afraid to turn off the lights. I lost all my fingernails watching this... It you''re into horror, this is a must watch!

Game of Thrones in Korean way

This show has everything. The scenography is awesome! I believe the cultural aspects are respected too, though i am not an expert at all, just a feeling. Most importantly: THE PLOT. Is not some sort of shitty plot like: there''s zombies, let''s do stuff (yeah TWD). The plot is consistent, there are zombies and there is a reason, also their strenghts/weaknesses are defined, and we discover them with the characters. Is not 100% clear yet, but there is a sense of progress of the plot, not just a repetition of the same stupid mistakes and dumb characters. Every character here has his own story and personality and as of now, you''ll be surprised, IT MAKES SENSE. This show literally saved the zombie genre! Must watch.

As expected, Netflix axes its best shows, and funds silly dating series.

I had low expectations of this series but I wanted to give it a chance, I have not regretted it. Story told in great detail, excellently acted and the setting is simply extraordinary. It made me reevaluate this genre.

Refreshing take on the zombie-genre that, unlike other zombie shows, retains the tension and dread for the full season. There''s little to no interpersonal drama in this show and the drama there is is more political intrigue than anything else. The stakes are high from the first moment and what is used as shock in western zombie flicks and series is simply something that happens here... and that makes it all the more shocking. Can''t wait for season 2 as the plot-twist at the end is sure to allow for interesting storylines.

I loved the show. It popped up on my recommendations screen and instantly had me hooked. What I didn''t know was that I''d be much more than hooked with this show: **I love it**. I am not a huge fan of gore and zombies but after watching this, I am rethinking my preferences. The fantastic graphics and props added to the terribly mind-blowing acting and made it an awesome combo! Still I regret watching it all in a day because now I''ll have to wait a ~~_a year_~~ for the next season. Never mind, anything for preference and quality shows :wink:

**This show did remind and gave me some GOT''s vibe :smirk::** 1) the zombies (white walkers) :zombie: 2) zombies that only came during cold temperature (winter is coming) 3) the Haewon Cho clan (the Lannister) 4) the crown prince (Jon Snow) its enjoyable :love_you_gesture:

I really liked their gradual introduction to the theme and the zombies but this kind of introduction felt too long and lasted for several episodes without any pieces moving in the story. It was a bit obvious this was done on purpose to delay progress for Season 2. Meanwhile, Season 2 took a step back and tried to develop its characters even though there was no room for that. Although Kingdom as a whole is relatively short but it needed a more precise cut to suit what we've been presented. Maybe cutting it down to 8 episodes in total would be ideal. The slow atmospheric shots with eerie background music were pleasant at first, but they quickly became overused to death and an abrupt change was needed but never happened. The movie Ashin of the North was an unnecessary addition that felt empty, out of place and was missing something to make us care. In traditional Netflix fashion, always make sure to lay the groundwork for endless possible future seasons/iterations at the end of every turn. Despicable greed!

KINGDOM (2013) REVIEW #thecall #thecallreview #halleberry . . . :scroll: Plot: While strange rumors about their ill King grip a kingdom, the crown prince becomes their only hope against a mysterious plague overtaking the land. . . . :man:โ€โš– Review : If you love zombies and are on the hunt for something fresh, you cannot go wrong with Kingdom. Kingdom is a Netflix Original South Korean horror series written by Kim Eun-hee. The series is based on the book Land of the Gods, which was also written by Kim Eun-hee. First arriving in 2019, the horror series has since become one of the most popular non-English titles available to stream on Netflix. Beautifully presented and dripping in Asian culture, zombie action-thriller Kingdom is quite the thrill ride. With a exceptional screenplay and beautiful production value this show has all the indegrients for an engrossing binge watch. The zombies are appropriately inexorable, and resemble Train to Busan in terms of falling over themselves while chasing the living. These are not sluggish walkers of The Walking Dead. The visual style is unique, and makeup effects are also good. The gore looks pretty much real, and there is oodles of it here. Season 1: Split across six hour-long episodes, Kingdom effortlessly blends political drama with a thrilling action plot, full of beautifully shot set pieces. Brutal action sequences, engaging drama and horrifying zombies make this show a must watch. Brilliant Direction and Extraordinary Performances by the Cast makes it extremely worth your time. Season 2: Season 2 raises the bar more and is bigger and better. Proves the mettle of Korean storytelling in this genre. . . :thumbsup:Goods : 1. Brilliant Production Value 2. Rich in Thrills and Horrors 3. Outstanding Performances 4. Extremely Engaging Mysteries . . . :fire: Final Rating : S01 - 8m5 and S02 9/10 . . :white_check_mark: Verdict : Just Watch This Now. . . - Follow in Instagram for More : @RiteshReviews
