In need of funds for research, Dr. Alan Grant accepts a large sum of money to accompany Paul and Amanda Kirby on an aerial tour of the infamous Isla Sorna. It isn't long before all hell breaks loose and the stranded wayfarers must fight for survival as a host of new -- and even more deadly -- dinosaurs try to make snacks of them.

I watched this a ton as a kid and remember really liking it. Looking back now it's not great but some of the set pieces are pretty cool. The pterodactyl bird cage is unique for the franchise. Yes the story is very silly and full of plot holes. Going through Dino poop is something my 11 year old self thought was funny but now I'm just questioning why? That ringtone is still very memorable and haunting.

I guess you could call this Jurassic Park Lite. Everything about it is reduced. It has a much shorter running time and the plot is contracted to the point that it is just about a handful of people looking for a child in a violently wild zoo. No longer a theme park. People still go to the island. A small group gets stranded on the island, and encounters the dinosaurs.

I have to say that I found this, though still a poor relation of the first film, eminently better than the second.
