A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen's classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.

I didn't expect this movie to be as awesome as it was. Perfect combination of everything that's Jane Austen and zombies. I loved that neither of those two worlds gets overthrown by the other.

As someone who had hated the novel, I'm very surprised to say the movie turned out very, very enjoyable! The premise translated way better into a movie than it did for a novel, the fighting scenes were nicely done, and the cast was also quite brilliant. For the first time ever, I could tolerate Douglas Booth on screen for more than 5 seconds, and that's a record. There's nothing particularly remarkable about it, but still, it was pleasant and entertaining.

Went in years after just barely giving it a miss, and not expecting a good match, but was very pleasantly surprised by how fun it was. Admitedly, Elizabeth/Darcy does seem abrupt and underdeveloped, and I found the ending predictably saccharine (*with a positive caveat), but I found myself laughing More
