Literature professor Jim Bennett leads a secret life as a high-stakes gambler. Always a risk-taker, Bennett bets it all when he borrows from a gangster and offers his own life as collateral. Definetely a good watch, entertaining and really gripping at moments, thanks to a very enjoyable Walberg performance . quality acting, Good filming, very good script.. but something is off and no matter how enjoyable the ride, that movie will be out of your mind within the hour of finishing it. Still a very entertaining movie for an easy watch after work !

The Gambler isn't anything special. I found Mark Wahlberg to be totally miscast in this role and the character is unlikeable and uninteresting. John Goodman and Brie Larson do what they can in limited roles but this movie is a snore fest that is easily forgettable when all is said and done.

Marky Mark try'na sell a watch to a stereotype made me kinda shame-laugh, and the last act was an improvement on the first two, but _The Gambler_ is not something I would recommend to, realistically, anyone at all.
